Dual Attention Network for Scene Segmentation, adaptively integrating local features with global dependencies using self-attention.

DANet is a deep learning architecture designed for scene segmentation tasks. It utilizes a dual attention mechanism to capture both local and global dependencies within an image. The network employs self-attention to adaptively integrate local features with their global contexts. DANet achieves state-of-the-art performance on challenging datasets such as Cityscapes, PASCAL Context, and COCO Stuff-10k. Key components include position attention modules and channel attention modules that model spatial and channel-wise relationships, respectively. It's built using PyTorch and supports ResNet backbones. Use cases encompass autonomous driving, robotic vision, and image editing applications requiring precise segmentation.
