Overview
SPM12 is a software package developed for the analysis of brain imaging data sequences (fMRI, PET, SPECT, EEG, MEG). It leverages MATLAB's technical computing environment, employing a combination of M-files and computationally intensive C-MEX routines for optimal performance. The software supports the NIFTI-1 file format for image data, ensuring compatibility with other neuroimaging tools, and also reads the older Analyze format. It includes tools for importing data from various formats like DICOM and PAR/REC. SPM12 offers a comprehensive suite of statistical parametric mapping techniques, enabling researchers to conduct sophisticated analyses, including general linear models, Bayesian inference, and nonlinear models, to identify statistically significant changes in brain activity related to experimental conditions.
